When I’m not making ads

I’m writing poems with an inmate in an Oklahoma women’s prison—

searching for hope through words.

Hiking the Santa Monica Mountains and pitching tents on the Northern Coast.

Snuggling my orange cat Piglet and his witchy silky sister Stinky.

Making coffee and letting the ocean carry me further than I realize.

Attending writing workshops with my online community of poets and essayists.

Endlessly watching movies and shows with my husband.

Helping my community by volunteering for local events and always picking up trash.

Calling my Grandpa to hear him smile.

Detangling my curls.

Writing on my Substack.

Moving my body in Yoga and mind with meditation.

Meeting a friend for a hazy IPA or a walk.

Feeling grateful for this life.
